Only 30 minutes away from our Log Cabins, the ‘Frequent Green Flag’ winner Bitts Park is great for families, offering a nice range of activity options and some truly beautiful surroundings. It has a fantastic children’s adventure playground with sturdy modern equipment suited to 3 to 10 year olds, plus a Pirate Ship sand play area! There are some young kiddie rides around but they really are for the little ones. You can also find a Putting Green, pretty good Crazy Golf course, a mini maze, a water splash park (from Easter – October) and both open air and under cover tennis courts!

Dalscone Farm Fun

With a large indoor soft play centre and exciting outdoor play areas too, Dalscone has everything you and your kids need for a great day out – rain or shine! A huge indoor soft play area has ball cannons, climbing frames, slides and other exciting features for the children to enjoy, whilst outdoors, there are trampolines, go carts, crazy golf, a play fort, Alpine slide, bumper boats and much more! Don’t forget to say “hi” to the lovely farm animals too! If you’re feeling peckish, the Dalscone Diner sells a range of refreshments including tea, coffee, juice, delicious cakes and baguettes. Dalscone is also only a few minutes from the centre of Dumfries, so you’re just a stones’ throw away from the range of shops and restaurants that the town has to offer!

The clue is in the name… Carlisle’s Energi Trampoline Park is the perfect way for your youngsters to let off steam and relieve some energy during your stay at Ewes Water Log Cabins (we know how full of life they can be especially when on holiday!). It is fun for children of all ages and relaxing for the adults too, thanks to the Energi Cafe which offers a warm atmosphere, a range of food and drinks, free wi-fi and most importantly of all, a perfect vantage point of the trampoline park so you can observe all the action!

Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory

Twynholm
A golden ticket for the whole family! At the Cocoa Bean in Twynholm, Kirkcudbright you will enter a world of chocolate heaven where your children can make and decorate three chocolate goodies to take home! The 45 minute experience is available every day and is suitable for age 3 (approx.) to 18. The experienced staff supervise and guide the children during the chocolate making workshops, whilst adults can watch through the viewing windows or relax in our cafe. There is also a play area outside and a venue for birthday parties!

Arguably Carlisle’s most iconic attraction – standing proud in the city it has dominated for nine centuries, Carlisle Castle remained a working fortress until well within living memory. Explore the medieval castle rooms, discover a turbulent history with the exhibition, and walk some of the castle walls. It is also home to Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life. As well as the tours and exhibitions, Carlisle Castle also plays host to various events throughout the year including ‘Spooky’ season this October, which features a scary drive-in cinema!
